2019 PRESEASON & COACHING UPDATE

A MESSAGE FROM SENIOR COACH BRYCE MCGAIN AHEAD OF THE 2019 PRESEASON AND SEASO

To all current and new Waverley Blues Players - Happy New Footy Year!!
I trust this message finds you all well and refreshed over the holiday period.  We are looking forward to sharing an outstanding 2019 at the Waverley Blues.
*  Sorry for the long message but important to get you all this info now to plan your yourself and commit into the pre-season

COACHES
We have implemented a great coaching structure to guide the players individually and the team as a whole.  The senior Waverley Blues club work all together - our U19 and Women's teams are an important extension of our senior club and accordingly we train, prepare and represent our club as a whole on match days.
We are very pleased to have Marc Luxa as our U19 coach for 2019 & beyond.  Marc has a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion for Waverley Blues being a life member, and having a football resume which would see him as THE most qualified U19 development coach in the EFL.  Marc joins Head Coach Bryce McGain, Senior Assistant Craig Lovett, Development Team coach Chris Hale and assistants Adam McConaghy & Paul McNamara.

COMMUNICATION
Player communication will be via a WhatsApp Group where we will notify specific updates.  Make sure you have downloaded WhatsApp on your phone (you will be added to the group).
A clear expectation of ALL PLAYERS is that they check in and communicate to the group, whether they can make training, will be late or any other squad information.  All players are expected to attend ALL sessions even if injured.  Communication to coaches is critical and will maintain a strong trust within our Club.

The Player Facebook group will also have our players connected as a backup for communication - but all day to day messages will be ONLY on WhatsApp (make sure you have it now!)

REGISTRATION
Please action this ASAP to ensure you are covered for insurance at training and practice matches.
Connect to our Waverley Blues Web site for process:> http://wbfc.com.au/player-registration/

ACE PERFORMANCE [Combined Program]
Don't waste your time just going to a gym and moving stuff around randomly - consolidate your training specifically for your football development.  Our conditioning partners ACE Performance have offered a 30% discount to $35 per week (normally $50) for all Waverley Blues players to join their AthElite program.
https://www.aceperformance.com.au/performance-training/athelite-performance-program/

This will provide specific individual High Performance strength, power and sprint technique development and work in completely with our Football Training Program for 2019.
They will offer sessions 2 mornings and 2 evenings per week.  Program is currently at AAMI Park but will be active at Chadstone (Salesian College) if we get the suitable numbers.
Register your interest for the program by emailing them on info@accelerationmelbourne.com.au and they will get the sessions underway.

INJURY ASSESSMENT
Our preferred Sports Practitioner is Dr Luke Nelson director at Chiropractic Solutions.  Luke is a completely holistic sports practitioner, has supported our club for 3 seasons and has enormous experience - not in the least with his 10 years at Collingwood.  Dr Luke will provide priority appointment, complete and immediate diagnosis for each condition and report with the clubs coaches and trainers to the recovery plan.  He will manage the complete process professionally ensuring your are back on the field promptly and safely.
Always mention Waverley Blues FC for priority and concessional rates.
